The marriage of Miss Alice Elizabeth
Brown to Warren E. Briggs of
Maple ton, this county, occurred at the
home of the bride's parents in Pittsford
on Monday, March 9. The ceremony
was performed by the Rev.
Charles Brooks, the bride's pastor, in
the presence of the immediate families.
The bride was becomingly attired in
a gown of white silk and carried a
bouquet of bride roses.
After receiving congratulations from
those present, a fine wedding supper
was served.
Palms, ferns and potted plants furnished
the decorations throughout the
different rooms.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. E. F. Brown of Pittsford, a graduate
of the Pittsford High school and
a young woman of attractive personality.
The groom- is a son of the late Wesley
C. Briggs of Mapleton and a grandson
of the late Ira Briggs of Lockport.
He is well and favorably known.
The bride received many beautiful
and costly gifts.
Of interest to the occasion was the
presence of the groom's grandmother,.
Mrs. Ira Briggs, who, although in her
83rd year, went from Lockport to he
present at the marriage of her onlygrandson.
The other out-of-town guests were
Mrs. W. C. Briggs, the groom's mother,
from Mapleton; Mr. and I.Irs. George
H. Judd of Washington, D. C ; Everett
Haswick of Ransomvide, and Miss
Florence Roberts of Henrietta.
The newiy wedded left for Rochester.
On Tuesday they were the guests of
friends in this city. This morning
they left Lockport for Buffalo, going to
Cincinnati. They will take a tripthrough
the Southern States, visitingdifferent
places of interest, returning
by the way of Washington, where they
will be the guests of the groom's s i s ter,
Mrs. G. H. Judd. Mr. and Mrsv.
Briggs will be at home to their friends
after April 22 at their home at Maple-
ton
