Stella Sophie Wrobel

LEWISTON - Stella Sophie (Pilat) Wrobel, 85, a resident of Our Lady of Peace Nursing Home, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 13, 2014.
She was born on May 4, 1928 to the late Walter and Antoinette (Machniak) Pilat. She attended Holy Trinity School, South Junior and graduated from Niagara Falls High School in 1946.
On May 1, 1948, she married Chester M. Wrobel at Holy Trinity Church. They were married for 65 years.
Stella worked at Carborundum Co. as a secretary; a legal secretary for Adolph F. Cecula, ESQ, and later Lindsay Photo Center. She was very active in the Mothers Club at St. Stan's School and Madonna H.S.; volunteered at the Polka festival and crafts club and cleaning the church with her friends.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years; her daughters, Jessie (Mike) Divita and Diane Strack; son, Walter (Patricia) Wrobel; seven grandchildren, Angela (Derek) Frommert, Thomas Divita, Steven(Sarah) Strack, Daniel (Michele) Strack, Richard(Latitia Lowery) Strack, Jennifer (Adam) Ventress and Kristen (Anthony) Casero; eight great-grandchildren, Elliot, Austen, Aidan, Ciera, Devon, Avery, Jaxon and Brooklyn; sisters-in-law, Albina (late Joseph) Murawski, Florence Wrobel and Stella Wrobel. She was predeceased by her great-grandchildren, Sophia, Trevor and Patrick Frommert; brothers, Walter (Elise) and John Pilat, and infant sister Irene.
Friends may call Sunday, February 16th, from 3-8 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319-24th St., cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 9:30AM Monday at Divine Mercy Parish, 24th and Niagara Streets, with Reverend Jacek Mazur officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
