  Robert E. Schroeder, age 92 of Wheatfield, was called unexpectedly to his heavenly home on January 18, 2017. Born in North Tonawanda, NY on August 8, 1924, son of the late Edward and Ella (Hoffmeister) Schroeder.  A life long member of St. John Lutheran Church, Wheatfield, he was a social member of St. Johnsburg Fire Company, member of the Wheatfield Seniors, the Historical Society of North German Settlements, and enjoyed traveling. Robert was employed at Ken Wendt's Propane Gas Service, Sanborn, until his retirement.  Survivors include his loving wife, Leona A. (Schumacher) Schroeder, they were married November 22, 1947; two sons, Donald of Wheatfield and Ronald of New York City; a brother, Roy Schroeder; cousins, Doris Wollaber and Marilyn Winters; and several nieces and nephews.  Friends may call at the DUBOIS FUNERAL HOME, 2436 Niagara Road, (Bergholz) in Wheatfield, on Friday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM. Services will be conducted by the Rev. Michael Borgstede, on Saturday at 11:00 AM in St. John Lutheran Church, corner Niagara Falls Blvd. and Ward Road. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to the church, or St. Johnsburg Fire Company.
