LOCKPORT — Dorothy M. (Buda) Mietlicki, wife of the late Chester F. Mietlicki, entered into rest on Friday, June 17, 2011 in Odd Fellow& Rebekah Rehabilitation Center, Lockport, NY. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 8, 1926, the daughter of the late Jon and Helen (Ziblut) Buda.
Dorothy attended local schools and resided in Niagara Falls. She married Chester on March 2, 1946. He passed away on July 7, 1974. Dorothy worked at Harrison Radiator for twenty years, retiring in 1993. She was a member of UAW Retiree's Club and also St. Teresa's RC Church, Deveaux.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Allan) Jacobs of Maryland, Chester (Jennifer Plache) Mietlicki of Burt, Barbara (Kenneth) Coutts of Newfane; grand and great-grandchildren; brothers, Henry (late Helen) Ketch and Peter (Patricia) Ketch; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her daughter, Helene Mietlicki; her dear sister, Jean Marchuck; sister, Virginia Fura; brothers, Stephen, Victor, Joseph, Marvin, John and Walter Ketch.
Family and friends invited to call on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the RUTLAND-CORWIN FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2670 Main St., Newfane, NY 14108. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, 11 AM at St. Brendan on the lake, 3455 Ewings Rd., Newfane, NY 14108. Burial at convenience of the family in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
