LOCKPORT. March 31.-A .past'
district deputy of the Encampment
branch of the- Odd Fellows and
treasurer of the First English Lutheran
Sunday school George R.
York. 55. died unexpectedly Saturday
at his home. 43 Waterman
street, of a heart attack.
Mr. York, an employe of the
Curtis Cafeteria and Bakery, 40
Pine street, was scheduled to report
for work Saturday noon. When he
fsUed to arrire. his wife. Mrs.
Pauline Heiman York, also an em-
ploye of the bakery. returned home
to investigate and found him dead
in bed.
Born in the town of Clarence.
August 2. 1891, Mr. York had lived
in Lockport 28 years. Before entering
the "employ of the cafeteria ten
years ago. he was employed by .the
lite Leon H. Ballou.
Long a worker in the Odd Fellows.
Mr. York was a past grand and
former secretary of Constellation
Lodge 184. a former financial scribe
of Niagara Union Encampment 19.
and a past district deputy of the
Encampment
Besides his wife, he leaves three
brothers. Floyd York, of Akron:
Wilbur York, of Corfu and Melvln
York, of Town of Tonawanda. and
two sisters. Mrs. Melvln Snell. of
Corfu, and Mrs. Sidney Gardepe. of
Lockport.
Services will be held at 2 p.m.
tomorrow at the home and at 2:30
at 2:30 at the English Lutheran
church. Burial will be in Clarence
Center cemetery.
