- Lawrence J. Quigliano, 80, of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on July 28, 2016 at Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Joseph Anthony and Annette (Runfalo) Quigliano.
Larry was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. He attended local schools including the former Trott Vocational High School. On April 14, 1956 he married Shirley S. (Serrianni) Quigliano at the former Sacred Heart Church. Mrs. Quigliano predeceased him on December 25, 2013. Larry began his career in the trucking industry working for Spina Trucking Co. and Friona Brothers Trucking. He later founded Quigliano Waterproofing, a company he successfully ran until the mid 1980’s. Afterwards he went on to work alongside his son Lawrence in the family business, L.J. Quigliano II, Inc. Larry was actively involved in several social and fraternal organizations throughout the area which included, Dante’s Social Club, Stadium Grill, The Judges and Police Executive Conference of Niagara County, LaSalle Sportsman Club, LaSalle Yacht Club, Sertoma Club and was a 4th Degree Member of the Knights of Columbus Council 247.
Mr. Quigliano’s family would like to extend their sincerest appreciation to Dr. Philip Sauvageau and his staff, as well as Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital for their compassionate care.
Mr. Quigliano is survived by his two sons, Joseph A. (Laura Kosut) Quigliano of Niagara Falls, and Lawrence J. (Joelyn) Quigliano II of Wheatfield; six grandchildren, Christina Quigliano, Joseph Quigliano, Vincenzo Quigliano, Gianna Quigliano, Dom Kosut, D.J. Kosut, and one great-grandson James Michael Dipronio. He is also survived by his sisters, Annette (late Mil) McCormick, Lena (late Claude) Morningstar, Mary (late Bill) Kubas, Carrie (late Dick) Gibbons, Alice (late Dom) Elia, Delores (Guido) Mistriner, his brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Karen) Colton, Donna (late Joseph) Nasca, Anthony (Joann) Serrianni as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was also predeceased by two sisters, Ann (late Leo) Cicero, Josephine (late Ed) Zahno, two brothers, Frank (late Angie) Quigliano, Salvatore (late Jean) Quigliano and his brother-in-law, Gary Serrianni.
Visitation will be on Tuesday from 2 - 8 p.m. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Wednesday August 3rd at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth Street, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Memorial offerings may be made to Mt. St. Mary’s Hospital 5300 Military Road Lewiston, NY 14092.
