Kenneth E. Schultz
Kenneth E. Schultz, age 81, of Appleton, entered into rest on Saturday, November 21, 2009 at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Newfane. Born September 8, 1928 in Hartland, he was the son of the late Edwin and Dora (Chase) Schultz. Ken served in the US Army from 1945 until 1948 stationed in Korea. Kenneth married Betty Jane Zastrow July 2, 1949 at Concordia Lutheran Church. Mrs. Schultz died April 6, 1994. Ken and Betty traveled to California on their Harley Davison Motorcycle. They had rode together on their motorcycles for 45 years. He had worked at Harrison Radiator in Lockport as a tow motor operator. He retired September 1, 1982. His loving companion, Dorothy Weir of Olcott, survives Ken. Ken is survived by his loving daughter, Barbara Jo Kirsch (John Beals) of Appleton; dear grandfather of Melanie (Paul) Kirsch-McClintock of Denver, CO and Melissa Kirsch of Rochester; brother of Charles (Nancy) Schultz of Burt and Ralph (Elizabeth) Schultz of Ransomville; half-brother of Bonnie (Raymond) Rehm, Doug (Mary) Schultz, Edward Schultz, Richard Schultz, Gary Schultz and the late Roger Schultz; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to attend visitation at the Kenneth H. Sherrie Funeral Home, 6139 East Avenue, Newfane on Monday from 7-9 PM. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with the Reverend Charles Jennings officiating. Interment will be in Wrights Corners Cemetery, Newfane, NY.
