- Carmela ‘Connie’ B. Bresko, 85 of Niagara Falls, NY passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Niagara Hospice House. Born in Niagara Falls, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo ‘Vincent’ and Carmella (Fantauzzo) Giannone.
Carmela was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. On November 8, 1952, she married Marion ‘Bill’ ‘Farmer’ Bresko in Niagara Falls, NY. During the 1950’s Connie was employed with Walkers Laundry in Niagara Falls. In 1962, Connie along with her husband Bill opened the Pizza Oven which has served the Niagara Falls area for the past 56 years.
Carmela loved traveling, bowling, ceramics and outdoor activities. She also faithfully made the garments for the Infant Jesus of Prague Statutes in various churches in the area. Above all she enjoyed spending time with family.
In addition to her husband, Carmela is survived by her children, Joseph Bresko, Darlene (Bresko) Richards and Vincent J. Bresko; her grandchildren Deanna, Joseph, Jr., Kerry Ann, Marion, Amy, Angela, Elyse, Vincent and William Robert; ten great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandson; siblings Rosemary Hayes, Sarah Giannone and Anthony Giannone as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Carmela was predeceased by four sisters, Florence Monfort, Antoinette Vance, Jennie Alfiere and Frances Jamgocian.
Visitation will be on Saturday, March 31st from 9:30 – 10:30 A.M. at M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, where funeral services will begin at 10:30 A.M., followed by the Liturgy of the Word with Christian Burial at 11 A.M. in St. Vincent De Paul Parish at St. Leo’s Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice.
