Joseph Watroba

LEWISTON — Joseph Watroba, of Lewiston, NY, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2011, in Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on March 31, 1936, the son of the late Stanley and Genevieve (Zauczkowski) Watroba.
Mr. Watroba served with the Army National Guard, 336th Artillery Brigade at the Niagara Falls Armory. He was employed at the Prestolite Corporation, for over 34 years, before retiring in 1998. Mr. Watroba served as Past President of the UAW Local # 2571.
He enjoyed spending time with his family, working on home improvements, bowling, watching NASCAR, sporting events and horse racing.
Mr. Watroba is survived by his wife Carol M. (Kimmes) Watroba, they were married on September 25, 1965; one son, Joseph F. (Kimi) Watroba of Niagara Falls, NY; two daughter, Martina Hagar of Lewiston, NY and Cynda Watroba of Alexandra, NY; four grandchildren, Brittany, Joseph, Charles and Corrine; one great-granddaughter, Ava; one brother, Stanley Watroba; two sisters, Dolores (William) Stone and Patricia Goupil, all of Niagara Falls, NY; also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the father of the late Jennifer Watroba.
The family will be present on Thursday, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 901 Cayuga Street, LEWISTON, NY, where funeral services will be held on Friday at 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Peter's Church, 620 Center Street, Lewiston, NY, with the Rev. Michael P. Zuffoletto officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the Lewiston Fire Company # 1. Interment at North Ridge Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
