LOCKPORT-Martin S. Degan, 71, of 189 Green
St., father of Lockport City Democratic Chairman
Raymond M. Degan, died at Lockport Memorial Hospital
today (April 7. 1967) after an illness of about two
months.
He was taken to the hospital
after suffering an apparent
heart attack at his home
Thursday. The first aid squad
of the Lockport Fire Department
was called to his home
at 11:04 p.m. The inhalator
was used for 10 minutes.
Bom in Gasport, March 17. -
1896. the son of Thomas and
Mary Conners Degan. he had
been a resident of this city
for the last 24 years.
He had been employed by
the Harrison Radiator Division.
General Motors Corp.
for 17 years until his retirement
in 1962.
He and his wife, Marion
Zent Degan, who survives
him, recently celebrated their
47th wedding anniversary.
Besides his widow and son
Raymond, he is survived by
two other sons and t h r ee
daughters, Mrs. Duanne
Uschold of this city, Mrs.
Mary Jane Benedict of Newfane,
Mrs. William Patterson,
this city, William C.
Degan of this city and Rich-
ard M. Degan of Lewiston.
Also surviving are two
sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Kolb,
of Rochester and Mrs. Allen
Casey of Medina, 19 grandchildren
and 6 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call from 2
to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday
and Sunday at the Gaul Funeral
Home where services
will be held Monday, Time of
services will be announced
later.
Burial will be in Glenwood
