NIAGARA FALLS —
Helen (Chmaj) Ziblut, 98 years old, a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, passed away on September 26, 2013 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence. She was born on April 5, 1915, the daughter of the late Jan and Sophie (Kokoszka) Chmaj.
Mrs. Ziblut attended local schools and worked at Bell Aircraft during World War II. She later worked at the Carborundum Co. for 29 years as a press operator. She loved to travel to spend time with her family and enjoyed crocheting.
Mrs. Ziblut was predeceased by her husband, Stanley F. Ziblut, who passed away on January 1, 1982. She is survived by her children, MaryAnn (Emil) Ciccoretti of Pinehurst, NC, Patricia (Ronald) Kauffman of Ashburn, VA, John (Elizabeth) Ziblut of Southport, NC and Stanley (Barbara) Ziblut of Oshkosh, WI. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Ziblut was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon Sloniger; son-in-law, Edward Sloniger; granddaughter, Helen Elizabeth Kauffman; grandsons, Gary Sloniger and Jonathan Ziblut; her brothers, Joseph and Stanley Chmaj; and her sister, Mary Zanski.
Friends may call on Sunday from 4-7 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Monday at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at Prince of Peace, 1055 North Military Road, Niagara Falls. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, 7018 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
