CUYAHOGA FALLS, OH — Lawrence Neubauer, 86, went to be with the Lord on July 20, 2012, surrounded by his family. Mr. Neubauer was born and raised in Bergholtz, NY, where he played drums in the Bergholtz German Marching Band and served with the US Army Air Force in WWII.
He relocated his family to Cuyahoga Falls after he accepted a job as an engineer with Goodyear Aerospace in 1959. Larry volunteered at Summa St. Thomas for nearly 25 years and enjoyed performing with Senior Singers. He was active in the United Presbyterian Church of Cuyahoga Falls where he taught Sunday School and served as a Deacon and Elder. He had his private pilot's license and was an avid aviator, golfer and woodworker. He received numerous professional, military and volunteer awards. He touched many lives and hearts through his work and various activities.
Preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Kathleen; brother, Wallace Neubauer; and sister, Irene Ketch. He is survived by his daughters, Wanda (John) Hicks of Akron, Eileen Moore of Akron, Sue (Don) Wells of Cuyahoga Falls, Cindy Neubauer of Silver Lake, and Cheryl (Victor) Noviski of Mentor; grandchildren, James, Crystal, Casey, Dana, Michelle, David, Cory, Mark, Daniel, Sarah, and David; great-grandsons, Jeremiah, Jayden, Dustyn, Cameren, Bryden and Ayden; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends may call from 7-9 PM on Tuesday, July 24th in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, 1930 Front St., Cuyahoga Falls and from 10 to 11 AM on Wednesday in the United Presbyterian Church, 2819 Hudson Dr., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44221, where a Funeral Service will be conducted at 11:00 AM with Rev. Adam Marquette officiating. Final resting place Rose Hill Burial Park. Military Honors by American Legion Charles Faust Post 281. Memorials may be made to his Church.
