John Fabel, 52 years old, 130
Seventy-fourth. street, died yesterday
afternoon in Memorial hospital from
burns he suffered Tuesday night while
at work at the plant of the Mathieson
Alkali Works, Inc., Buffalo avenue,
where he was employed as a hydrat-
Ing operator. Hospital attaches said
that the man's entire body was burn-
ed.
Officials of the Mathieson Alkali
Works, Inc., said that an investigation
of the fatality is being conducted
at the plant. They said- no details
in connection with the burning
would be given out until the investigation
is completed later, today. They
said there had been no,explosion.
Mr. Fabel was born in Pennsylvania.
He had lived in Niagara Falls for
the past 28 years.- He was a member
of Bell Rose Lodge, I. O. O. F., and
the Modern Woodmen of America. He
is survived by his wife, Mrs. Minnie
Fabel, of this city; his mother, Mrs.
Amanda Fabel; three brothers, Harry
and Grover Fabel, of Stroudsburg,
Pa., and George S. Fabel, of Trenton,
N. J., and one sister, Mrs. Percy Lee,
of Trenton, N. J.
Funeral services will be held at
the family home at 2:30 p. m. Saturday,
the Rev. W. C. Crofts officiating.
Burial will be in Rlverdale cemetery.
