  ohn P. Zito Jr. 82, formerly of Fort Lauderdale, FL passed away on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on January 7, 1934 he was the son of the late John P. and Elizabeth (Morganti) Zito Sr., graduating from Niagara Falls High School in 1950. After high school he entered the United States Marine Corp on January 30, 1951, serving during the Korean War. John was honorably discharged on January 29, 1954 as a Sergeant, receiving the National Defense Service Medal for his service. After serving his country, John began his career as a general contractor and developer. John was the patriarch of the Zito family. He is survived by his children, Sharon Zito, John(Debbie) Zito, Gloria Zito, Dominique Zito and Catherine(Doug) Seitzer; five grandchildren; brother and sisters, Valerie (late Frank) Doris, Elaine McCune, Peter Zito and Marie Zito. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins. Private funeral services & burial will take place at the convenience of the family in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a Charity of One's Choice. Arrangements entrusted to ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC.
