- January 13, 2014 Nancy Zobrist Anonymous The Tonawanda News The Tonawanda News Mon Jan 13, 2014, 11:50 AM EST ROCK HILL, SC — Nancy (nee Andrews) Zobrist, age 74, of Rock Hill, SC, formerly of North Tonawanda, died on Sunday, December 22, 2013, at Wayne T. Patrick Hospice House in Rock Hill. Born in Tonawanda, NY to the late Lyle and Minnie (Gaeth) Andrews, she had been a resident of North Tonawanda for the greater part of her life, and had been a resident of Rock Hill, SC for the past three years. She was the wife of Richard E. Zobrist, who died in 1985; and was the sister of the late William Andrews, and sister-in-law of the late Marilyn Andrews. Nancy was a graduate of Tonawanda High School and had been employed by Durez in North Tonawanda, retiring after 27 years of service. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Tonawanda. Nancy loved to watch all kinds of sports, enjoyed old classic movies, loved animals, and was a great listener. She'll be remembered as always having a smile on her face and having a great sense of humor. She is survived by two sons, David (Janet Laganiak) Zobrist of Rock Hill, SC, and Michael (Susan) Zobrist of North Tonawanda, NY; one grandson, Vincent Zobrist of North Tonawanada; a sister, Carolyn (Daniel) Grobe of Palm Beach Gardens, FL; and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 2-4 & 6-8 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.), City of Tonawanda. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 18, at 10 AM at Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan St., City of Tonawanda. Rev. Jeremy Lopez will officiate.
