- Mario Zuccari, 95, of Bergholtz, NY, passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence in Lewiston, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY he was the son of the late Pietro ‘Peter’ and Francesca ‘Frances’ (D’Angelo) Zuccari.
Mario was a lifelong resident of the Niagara Falls area and attended local schools. On August 17, 1957 he married Elia A. (Ricchio) Zuccari at St. Joseph Church in Niagara Falls, NY. Mrs. Zuccari predeceased him on October 5, 2003. Mario worked at the Zuccari Brothers Dairy Farm, which his father started in 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY. The farm later relocated to its current location in Bergholtz, NY where he continued working until retiring after more than seventy five years. As a youngster, Mario enjoyed playing baseball.
Mario is survived by two children Mary Jo (Judy) Zuccari of Charlotte, NC and Albert L. (Kim) Zuccari of Niagara Falls, NY; five grandchildren Mario Zuccari, Nicholas Zuccari, Vincent Zuccari, Dom Zuccari and Tara Casey, Five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by three sisters Paradise (late Luigi) Eugeni, Emma (late Joseph) Siracuse and Pauline (late Mario) Cortellini and three brothers Paul Zuccari, Louis (Marie Zuccari of Los Angeles, CA) Zuccari and Alfonso ‘Frank’ (late Teresa) Zuccari.
Visitation will be on Friday from 3 - 8 p.m. at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 MILITARY ROAD, NIAGARA FALLS, NY where funeral services will begin on Saturday, July 9th at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Vincent De Paul at Prince of Peace Church, 1055 N. Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY with Rev. Jeff Nowak officiating. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY.
