- ZUHR - Kenneth C. Age 73 of North Tonawanda and formerly of the City of Tonawanda, September 13, 2017 at his residence under the care of Niagara Hospice. Loving husband of 50 years to Carol A. (nee Baker) Zuhr; father of Kristen Zuhr and Jennifer Zuhr-McGee; grandfather of Marissa (John Jason) McGee and Megan McGee; son of the late Kenneth L. and Enid M. Zuhr; brother of Margaret "Peg" (Ralph) Wisniewski and the late Elaine Kramer; also survived by several nieces and nephews. Ken was a 1962 graduate of Tonawanda High School and inducted into the Tonawanda High School Wall of Fame. He was also a member of the Eastern Interscholastic Swimming Team Championship of 1962. Ken was a Physical Education Teacher at Depew High School for 32 years, retiring in 1999, and was a Swim Coach at Tonawanda High School and Depew High School for more than 25 years. He was a longtime member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, Eldredge Club, Third Ward Social Club, Niagara Hose Co., Exempt Volunteer Firemen's Assn. and the National Oldsmobile Club of America. He was also an avid golfer and classic car enthusiast. The family will receive relatives and friends on Tuesday, September 19th from 2-6 PM at JOHN O. ROTH FUNERAL HOME, INC., 25 William St. (between Morgan & Broad Sts.) in Tonawanda. Everyone is invited to join Ken's family for a celebration of Ken's life at the Eldredge Club, 17 Broad St. in Tonawanda at 6:30 PM Tuesday immediately following the visitation at the funeral home. Flowers gratefully declined, memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice or to Roswell Park Cancer Institute.
