YOUNGSTOWN — Denise G. Canfield, age 58, of Youngstown , died on Wednesday, August 31, 2011 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after being stricken at home. Denise was born on February 17, 1953 in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of Joyce Rae (Raybon) Band Gall of Ransomville and the late Robert A. Band.
She was a 1971 graduate of Lewiston Porter High School. Denise had worked for a time at Sabre Saw in Niagara Falls, at Frontier Bowling Alley and as a waitress at Apple Granny in Lewiston. She enjoyed gardening, camping at Allegheny State Park, jig saw puzzles, and visiting with her grandchildren and her family.
In addition to her mother, Denise is survived by her children, Patricia "Tricia" (Jason) Gibbs of Lewiston and Paul (Toni) Canfield of Niagara Falls; her grandchildren, Austin and Sarah Gibbs, Cole, Kyle, and Chase Canfield; a sister, Donna Fallesen (Dave Gombert); a brother, Robert A. Band of Youngstown; her special friend and longtime companion, Dave Guyette; her former husband, Chris Canfield and his wife, Denise's longtime friend, Sue Canfield; also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by a sister, Carol Band; and her step-father, William H. Gall.
Friends may call at HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, 3648 Ransomville Road, Ransomville, on Saturday, September 3rd from 1-2 PM. A Memorial Service will follow at 2 PM in the funeral home with the Rev. Denny Webb officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.
