To say Jack Pletcher was a character would be a gross understatement. Those that knew him would agree- once you met him, you shared a common bond. The acronym IYKYK would most accurately describe friendship and brotherhood with Jack. If asked, his daughters would say he provided the warmest of embraces- he would relish the sound of any of their voices as they would announce their arrival- “Hello Pops!” Throughout his last years, as his children moved on from the confines of Western New York, these declarations were relegated to seasonal visits and phone calls- but each visit or call would be met with the same enthusiastic “Oh, , how are YOU doing?” And then, a long run down of the Bills/Sabres/immediate family’s (in that order) recent accomplishments. Again, IYKYK lol… He also made it a point to support his family in their individual activities- marching band, Drum & Bugle corps, little league baseball, football, softball, cheer leading, car-shows… well… most anything his family was involved with… he was a FULL supporter for sure!
Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Cleveland Browns… you name it, his teams were THE WORLD!! And we heard every TD, Goal, and loss as well… Whelp, that’s Jack- like I said at the beginning, IYKYK… rest easy…
Friends may call at Fretthold Funeral Home, 1241 Oliver Street, corner of Ward Road, on Wednesday 12:00PM - 3:00PM and 5:00PM - 7:00PM; where a funeral will be held beginning at 7:00PM.
