W. Fred Rose, 74, of 85 Ilion St., Tonawanda,
last night in Kenmore Mercy Hospital.
Mr. Rose's.death was attribut-
ed to a ruptured blood vessel he
suffered Sunday while driving his
car in Kenmore. He was stricken
while turning from Delaware
Road into Nassau Avenue. His
c a r Jumped the curb and struck
a porch at 24 Nassau Ave
where it came to a halt.
Mr. Rose was taken to the hospital
suffering no apparent injury
from the accident but was admitted
for observation. He underwent
surgery late yesterday. An
Erie County Medical examiner
said the ruptured blood vessel was
the cause of death,
Mr. Rose, a native of Buffalo,
operated a printing business for
the past 37 years at 318 Schenck
St., North Tonawanda.
Funeral services will be con-
ducted at 2 p.m. Friday at the
Wattengel Funeral Home, 307 Oli-
ver St., North Tonawanda.
He is survived by his wife, Ber-
tha, nee Moyse; a daughter, Mrs.
Arthur Zimmerman of Marsel-
lud, N.Y.; a son, Fredric C. of
Tonawanda; a step-daughter, Mrs.
Edward Warren of St. John's
Newfoundland; a sister, Mrs.
Philip B. White of Kenmore; a
brother Carlton C. Rose of
Horseheads, N.Y., and seven
grandchildren.
He was a member of the First
Church of christ Scientist of Ton-
awanda; Delaware Hose Com-
pany No. 2 of Tonawanda, and
several Maconic organizations.
