William Ullrich, a former
member of the Tonawanda Police
Deparment for 34 years before
retiring in 1952, died today
at DeGraff Memorial Hospital.
He was 74 years old.
Mr. Ullrich was stricken at
his home at 306 Broad St. The
first aid squad of the Fire Department
was called and administered
oxygen to Mr. Ullrich
before he was taken to the
hospital where he was pronounced
dead on arrival
Mr. UBrieh joined the department
in 1919 and retired as a
desk lieutenant. A veteran of
World War I, he was a member
of Salem United Church of
Christ, American Legion Tona-
wanda Post 264, Golden Age
Club and a 50 - year member of
Niagara Hose Company.
He is survived by his wife,
Cora Frantz Ullrich; two step-
daughters, Mrs. Kenneth R. Batt
and Donald E. Miller of
North Tonawanda; two sisters,
Mrs. Ruth Sponholz and Mrs.
Willam Trost; a brother Harold
C. Ullrich, all of Tonawanda,
and seven grandchildren,
and three great-grandchildren.
Rotb Funeral Home, Morgan
and William Streets, Tonawanda,
is in charge of arrangements.
Burial will be in Elmlawn
Cemetery.
