Jerauld D. "Jerry" Regester, Sr.

Jerauld D. "Jerry" Regester, Sr., of Pekin, passed away on Friday, May 10, 2013, in Buffalo General Hospital. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY, on January 23, 1936, the son of the late Horace A. and Ruth E. (Hoyt) Regester.
Mr. Regester moved to Pekin as a child with his family. He was a press operator at Harrison Radiator in Lockport, for over 28 years, before retiring in 1992. Mr. Regester was a member of the Pekin Fire Company for 51 years, where he served as assistant chief and captain and was a member of the Fire Companies Exempts. He was a former member of the Tri Community Ambulance. Mr. Regester was also a Boy Scout leader. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed camping, gardening and hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Sandra J. (Peirce) Regester; five sons, Roger D. (Lynn) Smith of Sweetwater, TN, Robert W. Smith of Farmersville, NY, Timothy M. (Dyan) Regester of Pendleton, NY, Todd J. Regester of the Town of Lockport and Jerauld D. Regester, Jr., of Carmel Valley, CA; one brother, John (Mary Jane) Regester; two sisters, Lois (late LeRoy) Fose and Nancy (Robert) Moody. Mr. Regester is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; and his dog, "Buddy". He was the brother of the late Kenneth, Ronald and Ernest Regester.
The family will be present on Monday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Jonathan A. Hunt officiating. Memorials may be made in his name to the Pekin Fire Company or to the Diabetes Association. Inurnment in Mt. View Cemetery, Town of Cambria, NY.
