  North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 2/21/1980 Donald E. Plant Sr., a longtime resident of Tonawanda, died Tuesday after a brief illness in St. Augustine, Fla. He was 71. Mr. Plant was born in Pennsylvania, and lived most of his life in Tonawanda. He was employed at the North Tonawanda Wurlitzer plant for 30 years, and helped build the first of the company's famous juke boxes. He moved to Florida after his retirement several years ago. Mr. Plant is survived by his wife Marion and two stepchildren, James and Alexis, all of Florida; three children, Mrs. Karen Weeks of Amherst, Mrs. Norma Jean Moreau of New City, and Donald Jr. of Lockport; two sisters, Mrs. Florence Knople of North Tonawanda and Mrs. Ruth Jackson of Tonawanda; seven grandchildren and three greatgrandchildren. One son, Robert J., is deceased. A memorial service took place Wednesday afternoon in Florida, and cremation followed.
