- Rena Seefeldt Rohring, of Wilson, went to be with her Lord on January 7, 2022 after a short illness. Rena was born on February 12, 1935 at the family homestead to her parents, Ida Erma Daphne (Pollow) Seefeldt and Hermman Freidrich Wilhelm Seefeldt.
She graduated from Wilson Central School in 1953, and then graduated from Bryant and Stratton Business Institute with an office degree. She married Robert Rohring on November 5, 1955 at St. Peters Lutheran Church, Cambria. They were married for over 66 years at the time of her death.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three daughters, Pamela Rohring, Kimberly (Daniel) Kohl, and Jill Rohring (Stephen Smith); and four grandchildren, Stacey, David, Timothy and Lizabeth.
Rena lived a full life of family and faith, combined with music and career. She retired as the organist of St. Paul's Lutheran Church after 40 years in 2011. She worked with her husband as the office manager of Rohring Excavating & Contracting, and then started a new career as Assessor for the Town of Wilson. On retirement Rena started working with the quilters for charity at her church home of St. Paul's Lutheran in Wilson. She tirelessly made quilts for Lutheran World Relief, The Linus Project, Niagara Hospice, the Veterans Administration Hospital in Buffalo and various other charitable needs.
She was known as an excellent cook, an avid reader of both fiction and non-fiction works. Rena was devoted to her family, and engulfed them with her completed quilt projects.
The family will be present at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 220 Young Street, Wilson, on Thursday, January 13 from 11 AM until 2 PM, with a funeral service by Reverend Ronald Haefer following immediately. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery, Wilson.
