Edward E. Fernbacher, age 70, of North Tonawanda, October 27, 2014 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. Edward was a U.S. Army Veteran and received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam. He had been a 37 year employee of Columbus McKinnon. He enjoyed playing cards with friends, staying at his cottage on Lake Ontario, spending time with his grandchildren and his two dogs Zac and Zoe.
He was the son of the late Andrew and Rita Fernbacher; beloved husband of Marcia (nee Ellman) Fernbacher for 50 years; dear father of Jennifer (Dr. Charles) Fetterman and Daniel (Kristen) Fernbacher; grandfather of Emily and Samantha Fetterman and Maxum and Shay Fernbacher. He was the brother of the late Carol Anable; uncle of many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Wednesday from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held at the Funeral Home Thursday at 10:00 AM. In lieu of Flowers memorials may be made to the Niagara County S.P.C.A.
