and Mrs. George Krueger of 306
Shartle Place announce the engagement
of their daughter, Ruby,
to Mr. Louis W. Schmeichel, son
of Mr. and Mrs Benjamin Schmeichel
of 59 Carney street, Tonawanda.

St. Matthew's Evangelical Lutheran church, Wheatfield
and Bryant streets, was the scene of the pretty wedding of
Ruby Elsie, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Krueger, 306
Shartle place, North Tonawanda, to Signalman 3rd Class
Louis W. Schmeichel, son of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin
Schmekhel, 59 Carney street, Tonawanda, on Saturday evening
at 7 o'clock.
The bride was beautiful in her
white satin gown with a torso
bodice having long sleeves, neckline
beaded with seed pearls and
a long train. Her finger-tip veil
of illusion fell from a coronet also
beaded with seed pearls. She carried
a shower bouquet of white
rosea and sweet peas. The bride
was given in marriage by her
father.
Miss Elva Jeanne Krueger was
her sister's maid of honor. She
Wore a gown of pale pink net
fashioned with a tight bodice, full
shirt and three quarter length
sleeves, snd carried a bouquet of
pink roses and blue sweet peas.
Similarly made gowns were
worn by the bride's maids. Miss
LaVonne Gordon of Niagara Falls,
N. Y. cousin of the bride, wore
blue net and carried a bouquet
of yellow roses and blue sweet
pass. Miss Norma Schmeichel,
sister of the groom, wore yellow
ret and carried a bouquet of yellow
roses and blue sweet peas.
All wore headdresses of flowers
with shoulder length veils to
match their gowns.
The bride's mother wore an
°que marine dress. The groom's
mother wore green, and both had
gardenia corsages.
The best man was Robert Pfeifar
of Buffalo. The ushers were
Allan Wehrung and Rodney Waterstraat.
The church organist, Ruth
Fischle, presided at the organ
during the wedding ceremonies.
Ruth Haseley acted as soloist and
sang "Because" and "I Love You
Truly". Pastor Carl A. Frankenstein
performed the ceremony.
Dinner was served to the wedding
party of eighteen at Cutt's
Delaware Hotel with the table
having been decorated with a
beautiful wedding cake and tall
candles. A reception for aproximately
two hundred guests was
held at the American Legion
Home. Mr. and Mrs. Schmeichel
left for a short wedding trip after
which the bride will be at home
at 306 Shartle Place while the
groom will return to his station.
