  Obituary for Laura E. (nee Staschak) Schumacher Laura E. (nee Staschak) Schumacher, 86, of North Tonawanda, New York, passed peacefully on Monday (March 31, 2025) surrounded by her family. Laura was born in North Tonawanda, New York on January 4, 1939 to Michael and Angeline (Wesolowski) Staschak. Laura worked for Science Kit in Tonawanda, New York. In her spare time she loved spending time with her family, loved Nascar, Buffalo Bills, cooking for her family, and going to races at Ransomville Speedway to watch her son Rick and grandson Steve. Laura was affectionately known as Grandma Cookie by all the great grandkids. Laura was predeceased by her husband Donald Schumacher who died in 2017 and her son Richard "Rick" Schumacher who died in 2024. Laura is survived by her daughter Deborah (Kevin) McCumber, grandchildren Daniel (Margo) McCumber, Dina (Kyle) Allan, Ryan Schumacher, and Steve (Julie) Schumacher, great grandchildren Kevin, David, Nathan, Connor, Cole, and Evan, brother MIchael (the late Deloris) Staschak, and sister in law Sharon (the late Rich) York, also surviving nieces, nephews, and dear friends No prior visitation, funeral services will be held at the convenience of the family. Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
