Carl Toenniessen, 42 years old of 65
Filmore avenue Buffalo, was instantly
killed here Monday when a shotgun he
was carrying went off, the charge
striking him over the heart. He was
attempting to pass through a. hole in
a wire fence when the trigger of. the
run evidently caught in the. wire, causing
the gun to accidentally discharge.
It is thought that he had taken the
gun and had gone out to hunt a hawk
that had been making depredations
among the chickens of that vlcinity
When he was missed a search was
made and his body was found on the
farm of Mrs. Augusta Toenniessen, his
sister-in-law. He was born in Wilson
and resided here until 13 years of age
when he moved to Buffalo where he
had been shipping clerk in the John C.
Posts Sons wholesale paint establish-
ment for 25 years. He was here on a
vacation. he is survived by his wife
and one son, James, 9 years old; five
brothers, Julius and Fred of Wilson,
William and Walter of Buffalo and Aug-
ust of Tonawanda and two sisters, Mrs.
William Manweller of Buffalo and Mrs.
Charles Israel of Barker. The funeral
was held from the home Wednesday af-
ternoon.
