- Mary Ann (Abate) Jamieson, a long time Art teacher in Niagara Falls, passed away April 10, 2023. She was 85. Born in Buffalo, New York on September 27, 1937, a daughter of Harry F. and Rosamond (Olief) Abate. She was a graduate of the former LaSalle Jr/Sr High School, class of 1955. She continued her education at Buffalo State Teachers College, receiving her Masters of Science with a major in Arts in 1959.
She was employed by the Niagara Falls Board of Education as an Art Teacher beginning in 1961. Mrs. Jamieson loved helping and teaching her students. She retired as Head of the Art Department. Following her retirement as a teacher, she began a successful, booming Mary Kay cosmetics business, which she also loved.
Mary Ann was predeceased by her husband, Harold D. Jamieson, Jr. in 1983 and her son, Stephen Jamieson in 1972. She is survived by three children, Kristy “Tina” Jamieson - Ortiz; Glenn (Wendy) Jamieson and Robin (Greg) Mosher; a sister, Rosamond Abate McCann; several grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces, nephews.
Visitation Monday from 4-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where memorial services will be held Tuesday at 11 AM. The interment will be private in Acacia Park Cemetery.
