  North Tonawanda NY Evening News - 12/13/1978 ACKERMAN - Ira L. Ackerman, 61, of the Town of Tonawanda, Wednesday (December 13. 1978) at Kenmore Mercy Hospital after a brief illness. Born in the Town of Amherst, he was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church (Niagara Falls Blvd) North Tonawanda. Mr. Ackerman had been employed at Buffalo Tool & Die Co., for more than 25 years and for the past five years at Peninsular Steel Co., in Buffalo. He is survived by his wife, Delcia (nee Lawrence) Ackerman; a daughter, Mrs. John (Barbara) Memminger of the Town of Amherst; a son, James (Terri) Ackerman of the Town of Pendleton; a sister, Mrs. Verna Gipp of North Tonawanda; a brother, Glenn ( I s a b e l l e) Ackerman of Jupiter, Fla . and four grandchildren. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at John O. Roth Funeral Home, Morgan and William Sts.. Tonawanda where services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday by the Rev. Robert L. Rickus. Burial will be at Resthaven Cemetery.
