A high noon wedding ceremony in the rectory of St.
Joseph's Church. Saturday. Oct. 20. united in marriage. Miss
Loraine Rita Blonkowski. daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William
Blonkowski of 24 Waterman St. and Edward Walter Sherman Jr.,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Sherman of Franklin Avenue. The Rev.
Anthony Bilotta officiated at the double ring ceremony.
The bride chose a gown of Chan-
tilly lace, ballerina-length, fash-
loned With pointed long sleeves
and a pointed waistline accented
the votuminous skirt and low,
rounded "wheat-stalked" illusion
neckline. Her veil of imported Illusion
extended from a poke bonnet
trimmed with pearls. S h e
wore a Single strand of pearls,
Which was a gift of the groom
Her bouquet was radiant with a
white orchid and gardenias, cascaded
with stephanotis on white
satin streamers.
BRIDE'S ATTENDANT
The bride chose for her only
attendant, her sister, who acted
as her maid of honor and wore an
American Beauty red taffeta bal-
lerina-length dress with an over-
skirt of net. she carried a mam-
moth white chrysanthemum sur-
rounded by baby mums and white
streamers. A wreath of white
baby mums was worn in her hair.
Robert Gruntz, cousin of the
groom, was best man. A recep-
tion in the family home of the
bride in Waterman Street, followed
the wedding ceremony. Mixed
gladioli baskets banked the arch-
ways of the hall and bouquets of
Fall flowers adorned the home.
A centerpiece of roses flanked the
mantel of the fireplace.
The bridal table was centered
with a wedding cake, topped by
a bell, and the Misses Ruth Web-
er, Geraldine Kinzly and Mrs. Wal-
ter Trude assisted at the punch
bowls.
Mrs. Blonkowski, mother of the
bride, wore a navy blue dress with
navy accessories, and a corsage of
white gardenias. The groom's
mother wore a slate gray crepe
dress and burgandy accessories,
with a gardenia corsage.
TRAVELING ENSEMBLE
For her going away ensemble,
the bride chose a champagne two-
piece wool dress with black ac-
cessories, black persian lamb fur
coat, and white orchid corsage.
The bride and groom are both
graduates of Lockport High School
and the groom is a graduate of the
University of Buffalo, School of
Engineering.
