  Niagara Gazette - 10/4/1937 Mrs. Mary J. Ackerson died at the residence of her son. George D Ackerson in t h e village of Gasport a t 12 o.clock yesterday in the ninety-fifth year of her age. She Is survived by two sons. Judge Fred M. Ackerson of this city and George D. Ackerson. of Gasport. and by seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her parents. George and Ann Nellist. came to the town of Hartland in this county in 1831. where she was born on April 9. 1843. She was educated at Yates academy and at the Friends academy at Union Springs. N. Y. In February. 1864. she married Charles F. Ackerson and they lived their entire married life in the towns of Somerset and Hartland. Mr. Ackerson for many years represented the town of Somerset on t he Board of Supervisors and died In that town in October. 1904. Mrs. Ackerson lived for many years with her daughter. Lovina. the wife of Dr. F. O. Cole, In Gasport. Mrs. Cole died three years ago and since that time she has lived with her son. George. While she had been confined to her room for about two years, her mind was clear and she could relate events of the far distant past and was a constant reader. For many years she was an active member of the Methodist church and the Women's Christian Temperance union and retained her Interest in such matters almost to the last. Funeral services will be held at the Congregational church In Gasport at 2 p.m.. tomorrow. Burial will be In the cemetery at Somerset Corners.
