- Kathryn Jayne (Adams) Trowell, longtime resident of Niagara Falls and currently of Brattleboro, Vermont, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 17, 2015 at her residence. She was 90. She was born in Niagara Falls on March 3, 1925, the fifth child of Harry and Mary Catherine (Luckner) Adams.
She attended local schools and graduated from the former LaSalle Junior/Senior High School. She married Terrence Richard “Dick” Trowell in 1947 and they remained happily married for 40 years until his passing in 1987. She moved to Vermont in 2011 to be close to her son and daughter-in-law.
Mrs. Trowell was a lifetime member of Grace Lutheran Church, she worked at Chisholm-Ryder during World War II and then as a special education aide with the Niagara Falls Board of Education for 20 years. She is survived by two children: Kathryn (Jim) Walder of Tonawanda and Richard (Tami) Trowell of Brattleboro, Vermont. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Mary Kate, Fiona and Byron, her great-grandchild Gianna and siblings Gerald, Charles, Annie and Harry.
