After an Illness of several weeks
Mrs. Charles Ainsworth passed away
on Sunday about noon. Mrs. Ainsworth
suffered a, stroke of paralysis
and grew steadily weaker until the
end. Sara Agnes Reed was born Octo-
ber 19, 1851 in Canada, and was mar-
ried January 11, 1874, to Charles Ains-
worth in Leeds county, Ontario, coming
to live in Jefferson county, where
they spent twelve years. About 35
years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Ainsworth
came to this village, where they have'
since made their home. Mrs. Ainsworth
was a woman whose Interests
were much in her, home. She was a
member of Dewey Chapter, O. E. S.,
and also of the King's Daughters. In
early life she became a member of t he
Baptist church. The funeral was held
at the home on Main street Monday
afternoon at 2 o'clock, Rev. W. S.
Dobbie officiating. Besides the husband,
Charles Ainsworth, one son,
Burrill, survives; also two sisters,
Mrs. Price, of Black River, and Mrs.
Shampine, of Watertown; one brother,
James Reed, and a niece, Miss Jennie
Reed, of Watertown. Interment
at the cemetery on Pearl street. Port
Leyden friends extend sympathy to
Mr. ainsworth and family.
