- Charges Face Wilson Owner Of Death Car
A Wilson man. who State Police say owns a car in which a North Tonawanda man lost his life Sept. 5, is scheduled to appear Monday before Hartland Peace Justice Stafford Allen, on two alleged violations of the Vehicle and Traffic Law. He is Willis Sherman, 48, of Willow Rd., Wilson, recently released from Medina Memorial
Hospital where he had been admitted in poor condition after the accident. Killed in the mishap when the car struck a tree on Rt. 104 was Herman W. Follendorf, 62, of North Tonawanda. Driver of the vehicle, Jason E. Jeffords, 38, of Watertown. escaped serious injury. Sherman, who was a passenger, is charged with permitting improper use of registration and permitting use of an uninsured car. State Police charge Sherman transferred the license plates from another vehicle owned by
him to the accident car, which they said was uninsured. Sherman was about to purchase the accident car from a Lockport auto dealer and was technically its owner when the mishap occurred, troopers charge.
