DuPont Tinsmith served in Army during WW II
Lawrence A. Neubauer, 82, formerly of LaSalle Ave., died Saturday (Jul 6, 1996) at St. Mary's Manor nursing home after a lengthy illness. He was borm May 19, 1914 in Niagara Falls, the son of George and Mathilda (Fritz) Neubauer. He attended local schools and was a 1933 graduate of the former Trott Vocational High School. Mr. Neubauer was employed for several years at the Kimberly Clark corporation, befor serving in the Philippines with the US Army Tank Corp. during WW II. He was then employed as a tinsmith with E. I. DuPont Co., Niagara plant where he worked for more than 30 years. He retired in 1976. A member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, he served in various capacities, including elder and head usher. He also bowled in the church league. Mr. Neubauer was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and the DuPont 25 year club. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Lily "Joan" Bond of Niagara Falls, a son Richard Neubauer of Castleberry, Fla., two sisters, Winifred Meade of Lyons and Dorothy Albright of Lewiston; a brother Richard Neubauer of Lewiston, five grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Roy Neubauer. Visitation wil be from 2-4, and 7-9 pm today at the Otto Redanz Funeral Home LaSalle Park Chapel, 2215 Military Road. The Rev. Gary Luderman will conduct services at 2 pm. Tuesday at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2759 Military Road. Burial will be in Acacia Park, Cemetery, Pendleton.
