- Bernice (Smith) Alcorn, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully at home on Friday, May 24, 2019. She was 88. She was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada on January 1, 1931, a daughter of the late Lorne and Caroline (Pierson) Smith.
Mrs. Alcorn was a homemaker who took pride in raising her children. She also enjoyed knitting, gardening, baking and coloring but her greatest joy was taking care of people.
She is survived by four children: Marjorie Rager, Randall (Carol) Alcorn, Sheri (Darold) Bates and James Alcorn. She is also survived by her loving companion Bob Palfi, her sister Marjorie (late Bob) Baldwin, son-in-law Cris (late Debra) Van Patten, daughter-in-law Son Pun (late Robert) Alcorn, 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Lloyd R. Alcorn (2009), two children: Debra (Cris) Van Patten and Robert (Son Pun) Alcorn, her grandson Christopher Van Patten and four siblings: Annabelle (late Leonard) Atkins, Evelyn (late Howard) Wright, Jean (late Fred) Jervis and George Bradshaw.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue on Wednesday from 4-8 P.M. where funeral services will be held at 8 immediately following the visitation. Burial will be private in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery in Lewiston.
