NIAGARA FALLS — Thelma A. Owler, 87, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, September 27, 2012 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center in Niagara Falls, NY, following a brief illness. Born on November 25, 1924 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late William and Ruth (Braeunlich) Owler.
Thelma was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. She worked as a Nurse's Aide for the former DeVeaux Manor. Thelma was also employed as a Home Health Care Aide. In her younger years, she served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross and was a member of the Women Over 60 group, at Niagara Towers and the Golden Age Club. She enjoyed crafts and painting.
Thelma is survived by nieces and nephews, Donald (Suzanne) Larrabee of Youngstown, NY, William (Nancy) Owler of Quakertown, PA, Garrett (Ruth) Owler of Manchester, MO, Eileen (Mel) Meinheit of Peotone, IL, and Thomas Bonneau of Sloatsburg, NY; and many great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by one brother, William (Ethel of Youngstown, NY) Owler; two sisters, Mildred (late Howard) Larrabee and Ruth Bonneau Fenical and two nieces, Carole (late Jay) VanOrman and Barbara (late Robert) Jackson.
The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday, from 3-6 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will be held on Monday, October 1st at 10:30 AM, with Shannon Meyer officiating. Prayers of Committal will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. If desired, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
