 Andrew J. Skimin, 57, of 152
 Fifty-eighth street, a well-known former
 Niagara Falls athlete, who spent
 most of his life in this city, died suddenly
 last night at Mt. St. Mary's
 hospital.
 For more than 25 years Mr. Skimin
 was plant engineer at the Titanium
 Alloys Manufacturing divjsion
 of the National Lead company in
 Hyde Park boulevard.
 A native of North Pelham. Ont..
 Mr. Skimin was brought here by
 his parents when a few months old and
 resided here since.
 He attended the local schools and
 first gained prominence in Niagara
 Falls high school as a star basketball
 player.  He later played with the
 championship St. Mary's Lyceum and
 Niagara Alkali teams.
 Mr. Skimin continued his active
 interest in sports until  his death.
 He also was active in the Knights
 of Columbus, of which he was a
 member for many years.
 Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Ella
 Allen Skimin; two brothers, Jacob
 V. Skimin, this city, and George J.
 Skimin, Detroit, Mich., and four
 sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Monan, Mrs.
 William Monan and Mrs. Mary
 Landies, all of Buffalo, and Mrs.
 George V. Allen, Mr. Vernon, N.Y.
 Funeral services will be held at
 the Redanz funeral home Tuesday
 at 8:30 a.m. and at St. John de
 La Salle church, Buffalo avenue, at
 9:15 a.m. Interment will be in Gate
 of Heaven cemetery.
