- Marilyn M. Frieling (nee Schimschack) was called to her heavenly home on October 27, 2017. She was born in Tonawanda, NY on July 2, 1926 to the late Paul and Mildred Schimschack. A graduate of North Tonawanda Senior High School, she was a life-long member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church where she was also a member of the Ladies' Aid. She was predeceased by her husband, Gilbert, of 52 years in January 2008. She is survived by four sons, Jeffrey (Ellen) Jackson, Tennessee; Cary (Cheryl) Orchard Park, NY; Keith (Pamela) Rochester, NY; and Scott (Deborah) Knoxville, Tennessee. Nine grandchildren: Joshua, Katherine, Jenna, Krista, Daniel, Timothy, Alyssa, Scott and Matthew. Two great grandchildren, Colton and Easton. Marilyn is also survived by a sister, Ruth (Robert) Maerten of Sebastian, Florida. She was predeceased by two sisters Betty Walters and Jeanne Hromowyk. Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc. 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd. in North Tonawanda on Monday from 3 P.M. – 8 P.M. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 10 A.M. from St. Mark's Lutheran Church, 1135 Oliver St., interment will be in St. Mark Lutheran Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Mark Lutheran Church in North Tonawanda
