LOCKPORT — Harry V. Millard passed away Saturday, February 11, 2012 in Eastern Niagara Hospital, Lockport, NY. Born November 21, 1936 in Manhattan, NY. He served in the U.S. Army from 1955 to 1958, serving a year and a half overseas. Harry, upon returning from service, worked as a ladle crane man for 27 years at Guterl Steel and 14 years with the Lockport School District as the custodian at North Park Middle School, retiring in 2001. He was a member of the Steelworkers Union, was a 3rd Degree Mason and a long-time member of the Dan-D-Squares square dancing club.
Harry is survived by his wife, Ann (Schultz) Millard; father of Dawn (Thayer) Matzke of Syracuse, NY, Wendy (Timothy) Haseley and James V. Millard, both of Lockport. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Joshua (Kristy) Weatherall of Amherst, Justin Weatherall, Abby and Rebecca Haseley, all of Lockport; and his best friend, Maximus Millard. Harry was predeceased by his daughter, Deborah A. Weatherall; and grandson, Jason Weatherall.
There will be no prior visitation. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial service to be held Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 11 AM in Mount Olive Lutheran Church, 6965 Chestnut Ridge Road, Lockport, NY.
