LEWISTON — Henry I. Scibisz, age 82, of the Town of Wheatfield, Monday, February 13, 2012 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, after a lengthy illness. Henry worked for Brink's Security for 20 years and was also a journeyman plasterer. He was a charter member and past president of the Wheatfield Lions Club which he helped start. He also was a lifetime member of the Wheatfield Business Association and founded the Wheatfield Senior Citizens Organization. He was the past owner of Sporting Equipment by HIS. He was a past director of the Wheatfield Recreation Department and was a member of Adams Fire Company. He also belonged to the Polish Union of America and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was the husband of the late Dolly Scibisz, who died in 2010.
Dear father of Scott Henry Scibisz of Buffalo, Mary Ann (Jack) Scibetta of Buffalo, Debra Lee (Paul) Snyder of Wheatfield, Amy Marie (Frank) Miano of North Tonawanda and the late Lynn Ann Scibisz. Grandfather of Lisa (Eric) Gunnarson, Lindsay Scibisz, Christen (Kevin) Haseley, Dana (David) Donovan, Nicholas (Jessica) Miano, Matthew Scibisz, Michael Snyder, Danielle Miano, Eric Scibetta and Anthony Miano; great-grandfather of Kole, MacKenzie and Karson. Brother of Frances Lawrence of Buffalo. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear friend of Phyllis Cronin.
Friends may call at the Fretthold Funeral Home Inc., 1241 Oliver St. at Ward Rd., in North Tonawanda on Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10 AM from St. Jude the Apostle RC Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Wheatfield Lions Club, 5 Senses Nature Park.
