During WWII, she was a defense worker at Remington Rand, worked at Woolworth's in the 1950s and in 1964 became a practical nurse working at DeGraff Memorial Hospital for many years. She enjoyed bingo, loved fishing in Canada, was an avid Bills fan with season tickets and even FaceTimed with Jim Kelly on her 101st birthday, and earned the nickname "Grammy Slammy" when she would, with a slight smile, slam her playing cards down when she had a good hand. In retirement, Norma and her husband Jim spent their winters in Florida and travelled often. In her 90s, she parasailed, snorkeled, went down in a submarine, and even flew in a helicopter over a volcano in Hawaii. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ for over ninety years. Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 7, 2023, at 12:00 noon in Salem United Church of Christ, 114 Morgan St., Tonawanda, NY. Everyone welcome to attend.
