William C. Lasal of Medina, passed away on Monday evening, June 2, 2014 at the Medina Memorial Healthcare System. Mr. Lasal was born in the Town of Hartland on April 11, 1916 son of the late Charles and Emma (Haner) Lasal and he has lived in the area all of his life. He and his wife, Ruth J. Lasal, were married on June 29, 1940 and she predeceased him in 2003.
He was employed at Harrison Radiator Div., GMC retiring in 1980, was a member of St. Michael's Lutheran Church in Wolcottsville and a former member of the Shelby Fire Company. Mr. Lasal enjoyed his family, carpentry - he built three houses and he also enjoyed his dog, Cindy, and playing the drums.
He was predeceased by a brother, Arthur Lasal; and a sister, Irene Laatsch. He is survived by two sons and one daughter, Norman C. (Carolyn) Lasal of Gasport, Ronald (JoAnne) Lasal of Kendall and Judith Ann (David) Underhill of Batavia; 19 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, a dear friend Millie Knights of Medina; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Thursday from 4-7 PM at the Bates, Wallace & Heath Funeral Home, 38 State St., Middleport and on Friday from 10-11 AM at St. Michael's Lutheran Church, Wolcottsville, where funeral services will follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Royalton Mt. Ridge Cemetery. Memorials to St. Michael's Lutheran Church or the Shelby Fire Company would be appreciated by the Lasal family.
