NORTH TONAWANDA — Margaret H. (Taylor) Brown, 82, of North Tonawanda, NY, formerly of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into rest on Thursday, September 8, 2011 in DeGraff Memorial Hospital in North Tonawanda, NY, following a lengthy illness. Born on September 16, 1928 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late George and Bernice (Dayton) Taylor.
Mrs. Brown was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. On February 21, 1948, Margaret married Warren P. Brown. Mr. Brown predeceased her on November 21, 1988. She worked as both a teller and bookkeeper for the former Marine Midland Bank on Main Street, in Niagara Falls, NY, until her retirement in the early 1990’s. Mrs. Brown was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in the Town of Niagara, NY. Margaret enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Brown is survived by five children, Donna (Michael) Banks of New Jersey, Daniel (Angela) Brown of the Town of Niagara, NY, Robert (Mary) Brown of North Tonawanda, NY, Dorothy Brown of Niagara Falls, NY and George (Agnes) Brown of Sanborn, NY; one brother, Frank (Irene) Taylor of Ohio and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was predeceased by one daughter, Paula (Jacob “Jack” of Georgia) Wakshlag; one son, Richard Brown and two sisters, Barbara (late Daniel) Brown and Maryann (Alan) Benton.
The family will be present to receive friends on Sunday from 4-7 PM in the Chapel of the OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007). Family and friends are invited to attend a funeral service on Monday, September 12th at 9:30 AM in Our Savior Lutheran Church, 2759 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Glenn Richardson officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment will follow in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
