Mrs. Nathan P. Levee. aged 56
. of
73 South street, died suddenly yesterday
afternoon during the rain storm.
and it is believed that fright led to
her death. Mrs. Levee had all her
life been very much afraid of lightning
and it was her custom when a
alarm came up to shut herself in a
small pantry- Yesterday afternoon
she saw a flash of lightning and with
a scream ran to the pantry. A few
moments later she called for help and
when the door was opened she was
found lying on the door groaning. Her
son. George, carried his mother to a couch, threw some water In her face
and summoned Dr. Falrbank. but Mrs.
Levee was dead when the physician
arrived. It is supposed that fright
and the heat affected her heart. She
bad been in poor health for some time.
No inquest will be held.
Mrs Levee was born in Little Falls
December 9. 1853. And her maiden
name was Marian Angel. In 1872. she
married Mr. Levee. For a tlme they
lived in Oneida. For the last 20 years
she had resided In Utica. She was a
member of Tabernacle Baptist Church
and possessed a wide circle of friends.
In addition to her husband she is survived
by one son. George: one daughter.
Mrs. Mabel Steele, both of Utlca;
one sister. Mrs. William Jones of Clint
o n : three brothers. Henry. Zenith and
Willis Angel all of Oneida; a father.
George F. Angel 'of Oneida, who is
11 years old. and a grandson seven
weeks old.
