OSWEGO - Mrs. Laura
C. Arkland, 87, widow of
Harry Arkland, a resident
of 193 E. Eighth St., died at
her daughter's home Friday
morning.
She was born in Sherborne,
Vt., to Charles and
Mary Chambers and had
resided in Oswego for the
past 45 years.
Before she was married,
she taught school in the
Northern New York Centralized
School System.
She was a member of St.
Peter's Church and its
Altar-Rosary Society.
Surviving are her
daughter, Mrs. James
Turner of Oswego; three
granddaughters, and
seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 8:30
a.m. today at Dowdle Funeral
Home and 9 a.m. in St.
Peter's Church, Burial
will be in St. Peter's
Cemetery.
