Ralph Degnan

MOHAVE VALLEY, AZ — Ralph Degnan, born November 6, 1924, passed away July 6, 2012. Son of John and Irene Degnan, he was raised by his paternal aunt, Marguerite Degnan Shank and her husband, Oscar.
He served in the United States Army as a Cryptographer. He graduated from Oregon State University before being called to serve again during the Korean Conflict. He remained a Life Member with the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Ralph was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and served on the Vocations Committee.
He married our mother, Helen Elizabeth Sime in 1948. She preceded him in death in 2003, after 55 years of marriage.
He is survived by his daughters, Deborah Degnan Wallman, Kathleen Degnan Dewitt, Sue Degnan Bray. At the time of his death he had five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren with a third on the way.
Ralph Degnan is also survived by, Marie Guenther Degnan, widow of his older brother, John "Jack" Degnan, and his younger brother, Robert Degnan, both of Lockport, NY. He is also survived by cousins, Sister Mary Constance, SSMN, of Buffalo, NY, Joann Ruch of Lawrenceville, GA, Patricia Sidas of Wilton, CT, and Helen-Marie Martel of Merrimack, NH.
He will be laid to rest with his beloved wife, Helen Degnan, in Bull Head City, AZ. A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, August 4, 2012.
