TONAWANDA — Robert E. Levi, age 80, of Tonawanda, died Friday, February 22, 2013, at the McAuley Residence. Born in Tonawanda, he was the son of the late Emmett and Margaret (nee Aschenbach) Levi and was a graduate of St. Francis of Assisi School, Tonawanda High School, Canisius College and the University of Notre Dame Law School. A lifelong resident of Tonawanda, he was a practicing attorney in Buffalo and Tonawanda for more than 50 years and was a member of the New York State Bar Association, the Bar Association of Erie County, the Bar Association of the Tonawandas, and many other professional associations. Mr. Levi supported many community organizations and particularly enjoyed distributing food and produce to his many friends. He was the brother of the late Janice Lemke, who died in 2011, and is survived by several cousins and many friends.
Friends may call from 2-5 PM on Sunday at the HAMP FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 37 Adam Street at Seymour, Tonawanda. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM Monday at St. Francis Chapel on Adam Street in Tonawanda. Friends invited. Interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. If desired, memorials to the St. Francis School Endowment Fund or for masses are preferred.
