LEWISTON — Omer S. Roszel, of Niagara Falls, died Sept. 5, 2012, at Our Lady of Peace in Lewiston. He was 89. He was born in Niagara Falls on October 31, 1922, a son of the late Albert and Stella (Stolz) Roszel. He attended local schools and then entered the United States Army where he served as a medic during World War II. After his honorable discharge he worked at E.I. DuPont, retiring as a supervisor after 45 years of service.
Mr. Roszel was a longtime member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Rainbow Boulevard, where he served on the Vestry. His passion was ballroom dancing with his special friend, Phyllis Gross, and enjoying his time with family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter, Linda Barron and her husband, John of Easton, MD; his daughter, Candice Gigliotti of Niagara Falls; his daughter-in-law, Terri (late Gregory) Roszel of Buffalo; grandchildren, Paul Gigliotti and his wife, Molly of Niagara Falls; Jason Gigliotti and his wife, Kristin of Tonawanda; Eric Roszel of Lewiston; Aaron Roszel of Tonawanda; Jillian Heller and her husband, Tim of Buffalo; and great-granddaughter, Gianna Gigliotti of Tonawanda. He was predeceased by his wife, Marcy (1977) and son, Gregory (2007).
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave., on Sunday from 5-9 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, September 10, at 10 AM at St. Peter's Episcopal Church, at Rainbow Blvd and 2nd Street. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH.
